I’m sitting at the bar waiting for a friend to meet me for dinner. He’s been through some of what I am struggling with now and is doing well. I asked him to meet me and only gave him a general idea of what is going on with me. He is a good friend and did not need much information to want to help. Thinking about what I’m going to talk about is frightening. It’s 105 degrees here - too hot to hunt for cars on my Vespa. Send me some interesting cars if you can, Opportunity. I’d really appreciate it. In the meantime, I raise my glass to you and your cars. This place can be a sanctuary.

I just dug this out- close to 10 years ago, I took this pic of my fintail (before I found wide whites for it) parked next to a kind of peachy salmon colored 55 Chevy. I saw this same Chevy in traffic not more than several weeks ago. Very different, yet they get along:

With talk of TVR earlier, here are some interesting ones.

TVR No. 2. The car that started it all off.

And one of the later almost last TVR 440 R

On OPPO we are a family of sorts, we discuss, we argue, we talk shit, etc... but we’re also here for each other. Whatever you going through there is almost certainly someone else who is either going through it, knows someone who is going through it or just wants to help. Because that’s what family does.

A buddy of mine has a fintail in that same color. His is a ‘62 I think, and it has the weird column shift manual w/ automatic clutch.

The color is DB334 “hellblau” - I have seen other period MBs in it, even a 300SL roadster. It seems to have been relatively popular in the early 60s, and fell out of favor or was discontinued after around 1965, although a similar “China Blue” existed into the early 80s.

A 62 would be at the very end of hydrak production, and probably a 1961 build car. My car has the DB automatic (I think the first in-house unit made by the firm, prior were Borg-Warner), but is still interesting in a way, a 4 speed with 2nd gear start and no torque converter.

The good thing is, 99% of us will always be here to help. Even if some of us haven’t gone through the kinds of things you might be, most of us have been through things and can always offer advice or comfort. Life’s never easy. Also, people are friendlier when you have an awesome Sunchaser ;)
